During a trip to the east coast, Johnson was repeatedly informed by wine retailers that high-end Napa wines priced above $30 were no longer selling. This realization led Johnson to start the Smokescreen brand, aimed at offering great value wines without compromising on quality.
The team behind Smokescreen has worked tirelessly to redefine the perception of daily drinking wine by sourcing grapes from renowned vineyards in appellations such as Napa Valley, Russian River, Alexander Valley, and Paso Robles. To ensure exceptional quality, the wines are handcrafted using techniques typically reserved for more expensive wines, such as whole cluster fermentation and barrel fermenting.
