Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, the Castello di Monsanto winery stands as a testament to centuries of winemaking tradition and innovation. Established by Fabrizio Bianchi in the hills of Barberino Val d’Elsa, Castello di Monsanto is a pioneering Tuscan estate within the Chianti Classico region. Clearing the vineyard “Il Poggio,” Bianchi produced the first single-vineyard wine riserva in Chianti Classico in 1962. Notably, he eliminated white varieties, opting for Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino. The estate, spanning 500 acres, incorporates innovative cellar practices and historic features like an 820-foot underground tunnel. Today, Fabrizio and his daughter, Laura, uphold the tradition. From the award-winning Chianti Classico Riserva to the Super Tuscan ‘Nemo’ and the indulgent Vin Santo ‘La Chimera,’ Castello di Monsanto’s wines are revered Tuscan treasures, embodying the essence of this grand estate in the heart of Tuscany.
