Description
This Malbec exhibits distinct flavors of cherries, blackberries, and blueberries. Additionally, the wine is richly layered with secondary notes of baking spices (clove and cinnamon), sage, licorice, and cedar, while also presenting subtle notes of eucalyptus. On the finish, your palate is left with earthy components, including soil and dry crushed leaves.
This micro winery in Mendoza, Argentina has a rich history going back three generations within the Furlotti family. Planted in 1916, their three-hectare vineyard produces only one wine, a Malbec made by renowned winemaker Carmello Patti. With an emphasis on balance and terroir, the winery is considered the smallest in Argentina and produces less than 500 cases per year, of which only fifty are exported to the US. The grapes are hand-tended in an artisanal way, using traditional methods and natural materials to care for the living vines.
