Markham The Character epitomizes the rich history of Napa Valley, showcasing the best of their estate vineyards and an unwavering passion for Merlot. Crafted in the style of the “Right Bank,” this Bordeaux-inspired Red Blend places Merlot at the forefront, creating a beautifully balanced profile where all five Bordeaux varietals harmonize seamlessly. Their commitment to producing the highest quality Merlot is unwavering, with every barrel and bottle capturing the diverse essence of the Napa Valley. The vineyard, 100% NAPA GREEN LAND & GREEN WINERY certified, comprises 93% Yountville Ranch, Yountville, 4% Rockerbox Vineyard, Calistoga, and 3% Hopper House Vineyard, Yountville. The harvest, taking place between September 7 and October 1, 2017, resulted in a varietal composition of 68% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. Nine barrels were produced, with fermentation occurring in 100% stainless steel, followed by 30 months of aging in French Oak barrels, all of which were new.
