Description
Composition: 40% Caiño Longo, 34% Sousón, 26% Brancellao
The Colleita Tinto from Cume do Avia is a raw and alluring wine that sets the stage for the winery’s collection of authentic and unadulterated wines, crafted from a blend of indigenous red Galician grape varieties. The wine comprises Caino Longo and Brancellao, which impart elegance and crisp red fruit flavors, while the remaining comes from Sousón, a robust and dark grape with a deep, lively acidity. Despite its angularity, the wine is still gentle and controlled. The flavor of this item evokes a damp forest, saturated with fresh water, and infused with the fragrant spices of cedar, as well as the sweetness of exotic herbs and the tartness of wild red and black berries.
Diego Collarte, along with his brother and cousins, embarked on the restoration of their ancestors’ vineyards in a Galician ruin, despite having no family wealth. They put their youth into the project, which pushed them to the brink of financial ruin and tested their relationships. By 2017, their fortune was on the upswing with the creation of a series of wines that turned heads. The wines are made from thirteen different indigenous Galician varietals, and the vineyard is located in an ideal place for organic and biodynamic practices. Cume do Avia’s range of red wines is a unique and exciting addition to the resurgence of the Iberian Peninsula’s many sleeping wine giants.
