Taboadella Villae Branco is a refreshing white wine from Portugal’s Dao region, known for its delightful floral notes. The wine is a traditional field blend and the grapes are fermented in a combination of stainless steel and ceramic tanks, resulting in an attractive floral nose with hints of white fruit, like melon and ripe apples. The wine has a creamy palate with fresh acidity and mineral notes, reflecting the granitic soils in which the grapes were grown.
The Amorim family has been connected to the wine industry since 1870, when they started selling cork to the Caves de Vinho do Porto in Vila Nova de Gaia. Nowadays, they are a highly respected family group in Portugal, with business interests spanning across many countries and various sectors.
Since 1999, the fourth generation of the Amorim family, led by Luisa Amorim, has been actively involved in the wine industry. Luisa has been working at renowned Quintas, where the wines and vineyards have deep cultural roots and historical significance in the Douro, such as Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, and more recently in the Dão region at the Taboadella estate. The Amorim family strives to create exceptional wines that truly reflect the sense of place and terroir of the regions they operate in.
